Barbara’s career has included work with design, type, and ad agencies, publishers, printers and manufacturers from Boston to San Francisco… before she landed happily in Oregon.
College courses in design, typography, and illustration at East coast colleges and universities were followed by study and work with metal, fiber and paper in New York, Vermont and Massachusetts. After moving to the West Coast, Barbara studied at Pacific Northwest College of Art, and at the University of Oregon in a number of programs, and she honed her illustration skills through studies in biology and scientific illustration and with GNSI (Guild of Natural Science Illustrators) intensives.
Dan’s career as a biologist spanned some 30 years as biology staff instructor at the University of Oregon. His strong base in biology, and the sciences allows us to work with scientific data and projects for government agencies, primarily, but provides a strong foundation for any science-based company or organization who must assure accuracy. Dan continues to teach the Field Ornithology class at the UO during summer terms.
Dan’s scientific background, combined with expertise in photography and database development, give this team good complementary skills as they work together in their studio in Eugene’s south hills. Dan’s background in photography, along with his long-time expertise using Photoshop, allow us to provide outstanding photography as well as photo restoration.
Together, we specialize in work with small to medium businesses, government agencies and other organizations needing customized creative help with graphic design, illustration and projects for print.
