Barbara Gleason’s paintings of nature - wildlife, plants, and landscapes are often realistic, but usually contain impressionistic elements. She is drawn to paint her subjects as a result of seeing light fall upon the scene or organism she is depicting, watching as the light reflects nature’s cycles: dark, light, sun, rain, mist, fog, night vistas - a sliver of moon, sunset, sunrise. Nature changes so often that at no time can the same entity or vista ever be the same!
